Materials: Paper and pencil, empty box or jar
Help your child start their very own rock collection!
Get a blank piece of paper. At the top, write your child’s name and the name of their collection.
For example: Eva’s Rock Collection.
Then go for a walk and find their first rock!
Have your child describe what the rock looks like and say where you found it.
For example:
April 2, 2020
Small, smooth gray rock with pink line
Found on the sidewalk near the park
Find a place to keep your collection safe and sound! An empty shoebox, egg carton, or jar could be a great place to store your collection.
Finally, keep adding items to your collection whenever you can!
