  • Watch our video All Kinds of Feelings.
  • After watching, ask, “What are some feelings from the video that you have had before?” Let kids share their experiences.
  • Read the mini book. Stop on each page to discuss the photo, the feeling, and examples of times kids have felt that way. Emphasize that all feelings are OK!
  • Use the Show What You Know printable to build socialemotional and early literacy skills.
  • Practice recognizing feelings with our digital game Make a Face.
  • Kids can practice both completing patterns and empathy through facial recognition with our Feeling Patterns skill sheet.

Materials: Feelings Charades Cards or hand-drawn feelings faces.

  • Print out our Feelings Charades Cards. If you don’t have a printer, you can draw your own.
  • Cut out the cards and put them in a bag. If playing at school, have children take turns picking a card, making the face, and having the group guess the feeling. If playing at home, simply take turns with your child, or have your child make all the faces for you to guess.
  • After playing, kids can pick a card and draw a picture showing a time when they felt that way. Then they can dictate a sentence to go with their picture.
