  • This book gives facts about the teeth of all sorts of animals—including crocodiles!
  • Hilarious illustrations show what kids could do if they had the teeth of each animal. Facts about human teeth are included at the end.

Sight Word Hunt: you and do

  • Look through the mini book and circle the word you each time it appears.
  • Then find all the do's and circle them using a different color.

Hands-on Activity: Make Your Own Toothpaste

Skill: following directions

Materials: Toothpaste Recipe skill sheet, baking soda, salt, measuring spoon,nextract (vanilla, almond, or peppermint), containers, zip-close bags

  • Break kids into small groups. Project the Toothpaste Recipe sheet for the class and give each group a set of ingredients.
  • Guide children through the recipe, letting them take turns measuring and mixing. Make sure they close their containers when fi nished so the toothpaste doesn't harden.
  • Later, you can place a sample of toothpaste in a zip-close bag for each student to take home. (Check for food allergies first.)
