  • Before watching our video All About Water, ask children where they have seen water today!
  • After watching, ask, “What are two ways you use water?”
  • Read the mini book together.
  • As you read the book, have kids predict the bold, colored word, using their decoding skills and the photos for clues.
  • Then do the Show What You Know skill sheet as a follow-up activity.
  • With our Digraph Splash! game, kids get practice differentiating between the ch and sh digraphs.
  • Kids can practice sight words to reveal a mystery picture with our Color by Sight Word skill sheet.
A wet sponge and a bucket filled with water

Materials: two plastic containers or buckets, one large sponge, water

  • Go outdoors for a fun sponge-and-water relay! Set out one bucket or container of water and have kids line up behind it. At a distance, set out an empty bucket or container and mark a “fill line” at the level of your choice.
  • Give the first child in line a large sponge. Have the child soak up as much water as possible, go across to the empty container, and wring out as much water as possible! That child then runs back and hands the sponge to the next child.
  • Play continues until the second container reaches the fill line!
