  • Pigeon is very creative when it comes to inventing excuses for not taking a bath, until it gives in and discovers he enjoys it after all!
  • Sometimes washing our hands is not enough. We need a bath! This story will help students realize they may love to take a bath after all.

  • Together, hunt for all the letters m in the mini book. Circle each one!

Class Brainstorm: Cómo nos mantenemos saludables

  • Together, brainstorm ways kids can stay healthy at home and at school. Write children’s ideas on chart paper.
  • Start with washing your hands. Then discuss things like using a tissue and coughing into your elbow. Also include eating right and exercising!

Hands-on Activity: Haz tu propio jabón

Skill: follow directions

Materials: large bowl, 2 cups of soap flakes, 1/4 cup water, food coloring and vegetable oil (optional)

  • Pour the soap flakes into a large bowl. Add the water slowly until the mixture is the consistency of play dough.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring if desired.
  • Let kids shape the soap however they’d like! Let dry overnight.
  • TIP: You can put vegetable oil on kids’ hands if the mixture is too sticky.
