  • Watch our video Investiga las calabazas.
  • Afterward, ask kids if they’ve ever opened up a real pumpkin and looked inside. Did they recognize parts of the pumpkin in the video?
  • Read the magazine together.
  • Then play our ¡BAILA BAILA! video and do a pumpkin dance!
  • Use the Demuestra lo que sabes skill sheet as a follow-up activity. You can project it and discuss the questions together, or send it home for kids to work on with families.

Materials: paper, crayons, any variety of art materials

  • Let kids design their own pumpkins! Here are some ideas depending on what art materials you have.
  1. Draw a pumpkin on paper with crayons, giving it any shape and features they like.

  2.  Tear orange and black tissue or construction paper into pieces. Glue it on paper to create a pumpkin.

  3.  Make the pumpkin on a paper plate. Add stickers or glitter.
  • No matter how kids design their pumpkin, they can give it a name when they’re done!
